Majirel Color Question

I have client with 2inch dark Grey roots level 4 or 5 with white strip in front hairline. mid shaft to ends are brassy yellow golden blond level 9. Hair is fragile, thin and curly. (nightmare). Question: do i leave roots alone or color base? Or do i heavy highlight and low light? I use majirel color, and was thinking of using the majilift, any suggestions?
