Which chain salon is better?
Posted: Sunday, July 04, 2010 7:40:04 PM
I am returning to the beauty field after years of teaching.  I am considering working at JC Penneys, Great Clips, Supercuts or Perfect Look.  Which is better for someone in my position?

I've never heard of Perfect Look, but I guess it would depend on if you just want to cut or if you want to be somewhere more full service.

I am looking for a full service salon that offers education or an apprentice program.  Do you know of any?

Sure, I know of plenty, but I have no idea where you live! It's not to difficult to find that kind of salon with some internet research, though.

i dont know anything or anyone in Eugene,Oregon .. but if i were you ,i would hunt around and be a "client" go get your hair or nails or whatever done  and look around the salon  and see whats going on around you is it fun  energetic and edgey? is it loud with stylists screaming across the floor ? is it a kinda bitchy ? do you like the hair they do ? can you do better  or learn from them ? most importantly is it a place you would like to work in for 8 hours or more a day ?.. and dont be shy to ask the stylists some questions and pay attention to their answers and how they answer you .. are they welcoming to your questions or put off by them? .. i wish you luck

"It's pointless." said reason.
"Give it a try." whispered the heart.
